Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is a 1994 American meta supernatural horror film written and directed by Wes Craven, creator of 1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street. A standalone film and the seventh installment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, it is not part of the same continuity as previous films, instead portraying Freddy Krueger as a fictional movie villain who invades the real world and haunts the cast and crew involved in the making of the films about him. In the film, Freddy is supposedly depicted as closer to what Craven originally intended, being much more "menacing" and "less comical", with an updated attire and appearance.

Twister (1996)

Twister is a 1996 American disaster thriller film directed by Jan de Bont and written by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin. Backdraft (1991)

Backdraft is a 1991 American film that’s part crime thriller, part family drama, part love story, part bildungsroman, and part macho bullshit directed by Ron Howard and written by Gregory Widen. The stacked cast features Kurt Russell, William Baldwin, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Scott Glenn, Rebecca De Mornay, Robert De Niro, J. T. Walsh, and the late great Donald Sutherland. The film is about two estranged firefighter brothers who dodge flaming buildings and family therapy alike while unraveling an arson conspiracy hotter than their sibling rivalry.

High Tension (2003)

High Tension (French: Haute tension, also known as Switchblade Romance in some international countries) is a 2003 French slasher film directed by Alexandre Aja, co-written with Grégory Levasseur, and starring Cécile de France and Maïwenn. The plot focuses on two female students who drive to one of their family's secluded farmhouse to study for their exams, where a murderer shows up on the night of their arrival.

The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999)

The Talented Mr. Ripley is a 1999 American psychological thriller film written and directed by Anthony Minghella, based on Patricia Highsmith's 1955 novel of the same name. Set in the 1950s, it stars Matt Damon as Tom Ripley, a young man and aspiring con-artist who is sent from New York City to Italy to convince Dickie Greenleaf, a rich and spoiled playboy, to return home – however, after getting to know Dickie and his Italian lifestyle, Ripley takes increasingly extreme measures to adopt that lifestyle too. Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Cate Blanchett, and Philip Seymour Hoffman also appear in supporting roles. The music for the film was composed by Gabriel Yared.
